Commercial Fertilization And Weeding

Lawn Fertilizing and Weeding Service
Proper weeding techniques are vital to the health of your greenery.  Make no mistake about it, herbicides are poison.  They are designed to kill.  Call us crazy, but even when servicing expansive landscapes, we prefer not to use chemical weed killing agents.  Our company has an organic approach to weeding.  We will use our hands and in very rare cases, selective herbicides.  Fertilizers are like supplements for your garden.  We use them sparingly and with intention.  The fertilizer is specific for Southlake soil and your particular greenery.  To explore all commercial fertilization and weeding options, contact us today.

Identify
Your landscape artist will identify the areas that need fertilization and weeding.   She may have a conversation with your operations manager but if you have a scheduled maintenance agreement with us, they will already know where the weak spots are located.  We will take the time to walk the entire property before devising a plan.  Once we have located every area needing attention, a plan will be put in place to thoroughly treat the affected areas.  It’s a good idea to fertilize your entire landscape biannually.  This will ensure a thriving lawn and flowerbed.  Weeding is less arduous in smaller gardens.  For expansive lawns, we will weigh the pros and cons before choosing an herbicide.

Inspect
It’s important to inspect the affected vegetation and surrounding habitat.  There could be many causes for weed accumulation.  Before we begin a treatment plan, your landscape artist will conduct a thorough evaluation.  If your lawn is prone to weed accumulation, we may use a pre emergent herbicide to prevent future growth.  There may be bare patches in your lawn.  We definitely want to nip those in the bud; no pun intended.  Most of our clients expect a massive expanse of uninterrupted greenery.  We are typically successful in our endeavors.  Bare and dry patches are an eyesore and lessen your curb appeal.

Control
The reality about lawn care is that you won’t experience the results you desire without control.  We must control the weeds, limb growth, blades of grass and flower growth.  Pruning, weeding and fertilizers are one way to do that.  For clients that require the utmost in control, we will employ a post emergent herbicide.  This is designed to eradicate those weeds that have already sprouted.  It is our goal to use a less invasive chemical.  To prevent total annihilation, we will use a selective herbicide.  These chemicals are targeted toward specific plants.  If your landscape is overrun with weeds, our team will employ the use of a non-selective herbicide.  This stuff will kill any leafy plant.

Prevention
To prevent lawn and plant failure, we will use a nitrogen rich fertilizer with coupled with a micro nutrient pack.  Before the fertilizer is applied we will cut the grass and moisten it.  Once the fertilizer is applied, we will water it again.  Your landscape will love this treatment.  To prevent weeds, some clients request pre emergent herbicides.  These chemicals target seeds before they sprout.  Herbicides are applied in the winter and fall.  Weeds tend to germinate when the temperature is above 55 degrees.  At the end of the day, we want our clients to be happy.  Possessing a healthy, verdant lawn that they can brag about puts a smile on their faces.
